Silver splint studio was born when a therapy background met a passion for jewellery making.

After qualifying as a physiotherapist in 2003 I have spent the last 17 years working in the specialist area of hand therapy. In this role I have designed and made splints for people, with a variety of conditions, that require joint support for everyday activities and to provide stability in the hand to enable participation in activities that they enjoy.

Hand therapists are usually limited to using thermoplastic materials for splinting but with 16 years of experience in making jewellery I am able to make beautiful splints that can last much longer. As well as being more attractive, silver (or gold!) splints may also delay or prevent deformity. The splints can also be made adjustable to accommodate for any changes in swelling and providing joints with stability and support may help to reduce pain. The silver splints can be embellished and personalised to make something you will hopefully love and feel proud to wear.
